Kilmore Regional Busking Championships

The history of the Kilmore Regional Busking Championships is that it was proposed as an add-on to the Kilmore Art Expo with the expectation it would attract a new demographic to Kilmore who would also visit the Art Expo. While there does seem to be a little cross-pollination Busking has developed a life of its own and continues to grow. It is a wonderful street event that brings a lot of colour and energy. It is always held on the Saturday of the Art Expo.

Some research found that an Australian National Busking Championships existed and we could join under their umbrella which allows Kilmore winners to compete at a national level. It’s particularly good for younger rural and regional performers who don’t have many avenues to show and develop their talent.

A perfect fit for Rotary as it fulfils our wish to be supportive to all in our community and in particular to help our youth along.
